During this emergency repair we removed media block and repaired/replaced insulation that was damage and covered the bare steel. We installed new insulation modules and replaced media block after digging down sidewall and determining issues. Bed was very warm and media block was deteriorated badly all 5 rows deep we worked. I think there is significant plugging in media bed. We also inspected cold face and some misc. welding repairs will need to be made at next outage on lower supports to make up for bowing of can above. I think your unit would be a great unit to try a different media type in being it's only a 2 can unit. I feel the benefit you would get from this new type of media (structured/mlm) would provide better long term results for your process.
